Of Poseidon by Anna Banks

Summary from Goodreads :
Galen, a Syrena prince, searches land for a girl he's heard can communicate with fish. It’s while Emma is on vacation at the beach that she meets Galen. Although their connection is immediate and powerful, Galen's not fully convinced that Emma's the one he's been looking for. That is, until a deadly encounter with a shark proves that Emma and her Gift may be the only thing that can save his kingdom. He needs her help--no matter what the risk

I've only known about mermaids/men from the fairytale version from Hans Christian Andersen, Harry Potter The Goblet of Fire (mission that involved mermaids) Percy Jackson and The Last Battle (well, Poseidon's army should be mermaids/men, right), Disney's Little Mermaid and Pirates of Caribbean (which show a very contradict personality of mermaids), plenty mangas, and sappy foreign drama (from Philippines or Thailand, I can't really recall. I didn't watch it periodically by the way, my mom did =p). I haven't really experience a twisted YA reading centered on mermaids/men (although I have one on my TBR) so I've been planning to grab some titles soon. Then Of Poseidon appeared and I was intrigued by the story and the cover too. Also several book blogs I follow give very good reviews about this book so now I can't wait to get this and see the awesomeness of underwater myself! =D

Have you read Poseidon? What you think about it? =D

  3. Lovely pick, Elisa! <3 I heard mixed things about this book so I'm still not very sure whether to buy it or not. Maybe I'll just need another push before I decide to buy it hehe! <3 Love the cover anyway - SO GORGEOUS! x)
