Cover Reveal #9 - Sequels *UPDATE!*

Wew, a LOT new covers of series I-already and going-to follow revealed this month and they are sooo pretty! I'm such a sucker of beautiful cover! This time I'll post new covers for sequels. I'll do the new series' next month. Be careful, this might crash your mouse scroll, LOL. So here they are! =D

SEQUELS :

Through The Ever Night
by Veronica Rossi
Expected release date : January 2013

I was practically SQUEALING while seeing this cover. I'm soooo in love with Under The Never Sky's and this is the perfect sequel's cover! I love the model (I should picture him as Perry while I read this series =D), the pretty colors, and the same effect as before. Totally can't wait to see this beside my UTNS book! =D

Sever
by Lauren deStefano
Expected release date : February 2013

I read deStefano talking about Sever's cover reveal right before I wanted to turn off my phone and went to sleep last night. I was so excited and wanted to wait 2 hours more but too bad my eyes already so heavy. So this cover was the first thing I searched after I woke up and WOW! It's just sooo pretty. The model, the dress, and the settings are so perfect together like previous covers. But. Yeah, it's still have a 'but' for me.
I think the green background is too vibrant and too plain and doesn't quite fit with the premise and mood of the story. If only they used the darker green, it might be nicer and went along well with the rest covers. I don't know if they wanted to reach something from the vibrant green background, it's only an opinion from amateur designer like me =p.
However it would be very good on our shelf though ;)

Perfect Scoundrels
by Ally Carter
Expected release date : February 2013

Found this through Carter's and Hollywood Crush's Twitter, and I LOVE IT! =D Somehow this is my favorite from this series' cover, maybe because Kat wears pink shirt and helloooouw there W.W. Hale! xD I think I'll buy this series in english version.

Indigo Spell
by Richelle Mead
Expected release date : February 2013

Probably Indigo Blue's cover was the most awaiting one for me. And dang! I accidentally found this floating on Twitter-verse (LOL) and it's still pretty like previous covers. Just wondering who's the boy behind Sidney, and hellooooooow Adrian!!! *run and hug*

Everbound
by Brodi Ashton
Expected release date : January 2013

To be honest I was a bit not sure whether I like this or not, I think the orange-ish background is a bit unmatch. I still like Everneath's cover more. However I still love the smoke effect on the black dress, it's just so gorgeous!

Boundless
by Cynthia Hand
Expected release date : January 2013

I think this one is the prettiest among all Unearthly's covers. I love the color tint (so sweet and pink! =D) and love the model's pose.

Deep Betrayal
by Anna Greenwood Brown
Expected release date : 2013

Underwater photographs are very awesome and I really love them, like Mara Dyer series, Imaginary Girls series and this series. Deep Betrayal's cover is as pretty as Lies Beneath's although it has less photoshop effects =D

Breaking Point
by Kristen Simmons
Expected release date : February 2013

As a big fan of Dystopia series, I love the devastating and destroyed city in Article 5 cover that fit the theme very well, and thankfully the sequel's cover follows it. The cover likely shows a progression, while Article 5's cover shows two persons observe the city from far away, at this they show those two enter the city. Hm... I should get this series soon! =D

Shatter Me, Unravel Me, Destroy Me
by Tahereh Mafi
Goodreads page :
Unravel Me, Destroy Me

Wew, 3 cover revealed of one series, and they're very very marvelous! They're so unique with crazy manipulation, I love how they combined the sky as the eye shadow, tree's branches as eye lashes and waterfall as tears, and they're so colorful and the colors blend really well. WOW!
Although I already have Shatter Me with old version, I really want this version of Shatter Me! ;A;

Nightingale
by Dwan Rae Miller

One thing makes me really want to read this series is because Larkstorm, the first book, has beautiful cover. My eyes were balling out when I saw Larkstorm will have a sequel with lovely title, Nightingale. It sounds really pretty as the cover do =D I have to get this series soon as well.

UPDATE!

Finale
by Becca Fitzpatrick
Expected release date : October 2012
Goodreads

This was already being revealed a while ago but I want to include it here.
Although I don't enjoy this series as much as many people do, I admit this series has a simply intriguing and beautiful covers. I love they set into black and white and also somehow show a story preogression. This one is probably my favorite, along with Silence's =)

Requiem
by Lauren Oliver
Expected release date : March 2013
Goodreads

Because I love the cover of this series, I've excitedly waited for the cover of Requiem and quite surprised it revealed right after I posted this -_-; and yeay, it fits my prediction that it might be as pretty as before and the color might be red. Totally can't wait to get this book sit on my shelf with her siblings =D

Dead Silence
by Kimberly Derting
Expected release date : April 2013
Goodreads

Looks like we will have some final book with red-color cover. I always like The Body Finder's cover concept (although I don't really understand what the relation with the story =p) and this one may get along with the rest, although I didn't expect it would be red.

Blood-kissed Sky
by J.A. London
Expected release date : December 2012
Goodreads

I'm a sucker of almost anything in black and white and book's cover is not the exception. This used to be just black and white but then the publisher decided to give a bit color in it. I actually love this, but just too bad it has obvious similarity with Lauren Kate's Fallen series. Maybe they add color so it wouldn't be too similar anymore, well who knows =p

Fragments
by Dan Wells
Expected release date : February 2013
Goodreads

I'm quite sure now that Dystopia series mostly has interesting cover, this one as well =D. This is very pretty and intriguing, and I'm happy for the girl on the cover, she has a (boy)friend now xDDD

Aaaaaaah, so much prettiness, so much amateur babbling as well, please forgive me of my inappropriate comments xD
Which cover do you love the most? What do you think about them?

REVIEW : If I Stay by Gayle Forman

If I Stay

Author      : Gayle Forman
Publisher   : Gramedia Pustaka Utama (Indonesia)
Source      : Bought
Pages        : 200

Summary from Goodreads :
A critically acclaimed novel that will change the way you look at life, love, and family.

In the blink of an eye everything changes. Seventeen year-old Mia has no memory of the accident; she can only recall what happened afterwards, watching her own damaged body being taken from the wreck. Little by little she struggles to put together the pieces- to figure out what she has lost, what she has left, and the very difficult choice she must make. Heartwrenchingly beautiful, Mia's story will stay with you for a long, long time.

“I realize now that dying is easy. Living is hard.” - Mia

I had no idea what exactly this book about at the first I read the summary. It sounded a bit strange and I thought it would be like a ghost story since Mia, the main character and the narrator of this book is the one who involved in a terrible accident that killed entire of her family and put herself in a state between life and death. I also already prepared for another tear-jerking reading because I'm that person who easily shed tears while just reading a small touching part. But then I was wrong at the ghost part, and it's way more than just a tear-jerking reading.

If I Stay is being told in a unique way. It's not usual to see the whole story from the one who is in coma instead from the people around her, in this story I can't exactly call in what form Mia is and actually it's still bugging me until now, lol. But that's not really a matter. We also see the whole story in two ways from Mia's perspective; things that happen around her as invicible-Mia and broken-coma body, and flashback of Mia's memories from the past, which honestly made me feel more miserable and sad.

Mia is a realistic character for me, with realistic life and thoughts. I could get an emotional connection with her. I did really pity Mia for everything happened on her and couldn't imagine either if I was on her shoes. I would think exactly like she does if it's like everything I had was gone and nothing left in me, and there's no positive points at all. But thankfully, beside her beloved lost parents and little brother, she still has wonderful people who still there and love her: her grandparents, Kim, and Adam, her boyfriend. My eyes got teary each time I read their restless effort especially from her granddad and Adam, convincing Mia to stay alive.

This book doesn't have such a flowery and passionate love story and it's not the main point of the whole story. Instead we see both Mia and Adam, although they are in love, are still learning to understand each other since they're very two different persons in and out, like classic and rock-band. They some times face unpleasant moments of adjusting, but it feels more down-to-earth and realistic. That situation gives more rooms for good development in their relationship and I really like it.

Such a emotional, tragic, sad story with powerful voice that could affect your mood immediately, but in the same time you can feel heartwarming feeling and hope. Forman successfully deliver meaningful messages about the values of memories, good one or bad one, and supportive people around us in our life because once we maybe need them to convince us to keep staying.
This book is one good reading about value of life, so you might not want to miss it. Don't forget prepare your Kleenex, in case you need it ;)
Happy reading!

“If you stay, I'll do whatever you want. I'll quit the band, go with you to New York. But if you need me to go away, I'll do that, too. I was talking to Liz and she said maybe coming back to your old life would be too painful, that maybe it'd be easier for you to erase us. And that would suck, but I'd do it. I can lose you like that if I don't lose you today. I'll let you go. If you stay.” - Adam

REVIEW : Torrent by Lisa T. Bergren

Torrent (River of Time #3)

Author      : Lisa T. Bergren
Publisher  : David C. Cook
Source      : Bought
Pages        : 388 (Paperback)

Summary from Goodreads :
When Gabi and Lia finally learn to surf the river of time, they realize they must make hard choices about life and love in the third and final book in the River of Time series.

Gabi and Lia Betarrini have learned to control their time travel, and they return from medieval Italy to save their father from his tragic death in modern times.

But love calls across the centuries, and the girls are determined to return forever—even though they know the Black Plague is advancing across Europe, claiming the lives of one-third of the population. In the suspenseful conclusion of the River of Time series, every decision is about life … and death.

You may want to read these first :
Waterfall
Cascade
before you continue to read this one =)

I really have no idea how to write this review, but I think I have to make it short, otherwise I'll spoil everything inside this book. Well, I tend to babble a lot about books I love but I try though =p.

Usually I feel a bit scared to read the final book of a series, and this book is not the exception. Somehow I feel the last book is a critical part where the author have to wisely think and decide. It can both liven up the whole story and make it unforgettable for several times, or no matter how happy the ending is, it can ruin the whole good story. There were several series I've read which have a pretty disappointing final for me, but thankfully, this series is definitely not one of them.

It's officially that this series is one of my favorite in this year and also Lisa T. Bergren is one of my favorite author. This series is purely awesome! I've said this like, well twice, again I'm still so in love with every single thing in this book and I still dazed how detail the story is, and how it still can be developed to the unexpected higher level, it thrilled me a lot and made me couldn't take my eyes from each page of this book!

Talk about the plot, wow, the stakes are higher and seriously stirred my emotion up and down. At one time it's almost like all heart-pounding and adrenalin-rushing action scenes that dragged me to the edge of my seat, then next my heart was warmed with so much love between the Betarinnis, the loyal Siena people and of course from the couples especially Gabriella and Marcello who put their relationship to the next level. But I also want to warn you, this book probably the most emotional, heart-wrenching one. I can say this book almost depressed me, everything seemed so overwhelming for my weak heart. But it's maybe because I took this book too serious, how I didn't, it seemed so realistic for me T^T. Many things happen in this book, many decisions are made then many things are sacrificed because of that.

Beside the regular characters that continuously become so awesome, I was so glad I could know more about this tall, dark, brooding double agent, Lord Rodolfo Greco. I fell so sad for him. He's so loyal both to his people and friends, in this case, Marcello and his brotherhood, but he's forced to choose only one and he has to endure the dangerous risk. He's beyond awesome and sorry Marcello, I have to give a little bit more of my heart for him ;) His presence between Gabi and Marcello, even makes Gabi distracted a bit from Marcello was for some reasons exciting me. No matter how determined she was, she almost can't resist Rodolfo's dark charm =D. I sincerely hope Rodolfo will find someone he really love someday.

Oops, I failed to make a short one. Lol.
I wanna say that Torrent is an EPIC final for such a magnificent series. Everything meets its climax, and they seem so realistic I could vividly imagine them and almost so eerie that I likely could feel what the characters felt. It also end with satisfying one, and obviously signs that it's only the beginning of the other journey. I feel so thankful I found this fantastic series to be added in my favorite series all the time.
And yeah, it's not a final actually =D. I'm beyond happy that Bergren continued this series and released soon-to-be-two e-novella, Bourne and Tributary, which have more Lia, Luca and Rodolfo inside, and perhaps that mysterious brotherhood (OH YAY!). I really can't wait to read them and hope someday they will be bundled as a physical book =D
What are you waiting for? I guarantee you also would not want to miss this awesome series! Just grab and devour them and experience the exciting back-to-the-Medieval-era-adventure-with-realistic-details-and-characters yourself =D.
*lol so mouthful*

Happy reading!

“My eyes shifted to the trickling river. Come spring, it would be ten times as wide and just as deep. On and on it went, rushing toward the distant horizon. Like time. Like life. Sometimes gently falling from one pool into the other, other times fast and cascading, and still other times narrowing into a funnel, a torrent of knots and waves.”

In My Mailbox #22

In My Mailbox is a blog meme hosted by Kristi of The Story Siren. You can show some books you got over the week which you bought, borrowed or given to you.

Hello guys how are you today?

Guh, my life kinda suck these days =_=. Works depressed me so much, too many problems at my office that totally drained my emotion and energy. I really have to get out of there sooner or well... later. Duh.
Okay, stop talking about crap =p

I didn't post IMM last week, so these are books I got from last 2 weeks =)

City of Fallen Angel by Cassandra Clare
Alana - Song of The Lioness by Tamora Pierce
Runaway (Airhead #3) by Meg Cabot
A Lot Like Love by Julie James

Actually I already have the copy of Indonesia ver. of CoFA. But uh-oh, suddenly Book Depository reduced the price of hardcover version quite lowly. So yay! I fell to the temptation and now it's sitting on my bookshelf! =D
I heard many good things of Tamora Pierce's books, and it does sound really good story, so I want to know it myself.
And for Runaway, I have to say I really disappoint with the cover. It doesn't even with my Airhead and Being Nikki =( But well I still bought it though.
I'm a big fan of Julie James, so I really happy the publisher finally published A Lot Like Love. Already read it and TOTALLY LOVE IT!

What's in your mailbox/stacks/bookhaul/etc ? Feel free to put your link so I can check it back. Enjoy your week with your awesome new books! ^^

Of Poseidon by Anna Banks

Summary from Goodreads :
Galen, a Syrena prince, searches land for a girl he's heard can communicate with fish. It’s while Emma is on vacation at the beach that she meets Galen. Although their connection is immediate and powerful, Galen's not fully convinced that Emma's the one he's been looking for. That is, until a deadly encounter with a shark proves that Emma and her Gift may be the only thing that can save his kingdom. He needs her help--no matter what the risk

I've only known about mermaids/men from the fairytale version from Hans Christian Andersen, Harry Potter The Goblet of Fire (mission that involved mermaids) Percy Jackson and The Last Battle (well, Poseidon's army should be mermaids/men, right), Disney's Little Mermaid and Pirates of Caribbean (which show a very contradict personality of mermaids), plenty mangas, and sappy foreign drama (from Philippines or Thailand, I can't really recall. I didn't watch it periodically by the way, my mom did =p). I haven't really experience a twisted YA reading centered on mermaids/men (although I have one on my TBR) so I've been planning to grab some titles soon. Then Of Poseidon appeared and I was intrigued by the story and the cover too. Also several book blogs I follow give very good reviews about this book so now I can't wait to get this and see the awesomeness of underwater myself! =D

Have you read Poseidon? What you think about it? =D

Dusty Reads #16

Dusty Reads is a meme hosted by Giselle from Expresso Reads, featuring a book which has been staying at my bookpile for a long time.

Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl

Summary from Goodreads :
There were no surprises in Gatlin County.
We were pretty much the epicenter of the middle of nowhere.
At least, that's what I thought.
Turns out, I couldn't have been more wrong.
There was a curse.
There was a girl.
And in the end, there was a grave.
Lena Duchannes is unlike anyone the small Southern town of Gatlin has ever seen, and she's struggling to conceal her power and a curse that has haunted her family for generations. But even within the overgrown gardens, murky swamps and crumbling graveyards of the forgotten South, a secret cannot stay hidden forever.

Ethan Wate, who has been counting the months until he can escape from Gatlin, is haunted by dreams of a beautiful girl he has never met. When Lena moves into the town's oldest and most infamous plantation, Ethan is inexplicably drawn to her and determined to uncover the connection between them.

In a town with no surprises, one secret could change everything

The original cover :

Hm... somehow some parts of Indonesia version remind me of Percy Jackson movie picture =x

Honestly I planned to borrow this book from my friend rather than bought it myself, but because the story seems so tempting then suddenly I have this in my own shelf, still untouch until now. The version I have has many pages, I'm afraid the story would be dragged or I couldn't enjoy it well. But since the movie will be released soon, I think I have to read this book soon before it hit the theatres.

Have you read this book? What do you think about it?

REVIEW : Marshmallow Skye by Cathy Cassidy

Marshmallow Skye (Chocolate Box Girls #2)

Author      : Cathy Cassidy
Publisher   : UFUK
Source      : Bought
Pages        : 369 (Paperback)

Summary from Goodreads :
SKYE TANBERRY is an identical twin, and she loves her sister Summer more than anyone else in the world. They do everything together, but lately Skye's been feeling like second-best - it's the story of her life. And when her friend Alfie confesses he's fallen for Summer, she pretends it doesn't hurt.

Skye wants to be her own person; but with an effortlessly cool twin, how can she? Will Skye ever step out of Summer's shadow and find her own chance to shine?

Every time I bring this book along with Cherry Crush, I feel like bring two boxes of delicious chocolate that ready to be devoured by myself *looks yummy!*, well obviously it has that design . But personally I do think that way, because I'm already in love with this series although it still has only 2 books! Both share the same taste: brilliantly written, cute, simple and heartwarming family bond, but I can say Marshmallow Skye is a bit different. This book has no single 'real' love scene even at first it looks like a sad love story, but oddly I could feel it and it's oddly beautiful. Somehow the story remind me of the old song "I Knew I Loved You Before I Met You" by Savage Garden which I think that was ridiculously impossible at that moment. But this book makes it possible in very sweet way =D

Skye Tanberry is in dilemmas. She loves Summer, her inseparable identical sister, more than anyone else in this world, yes, but finally that time comes when she realizes how weird she is compared to her perfect twin sister (her obsession over vintage things is kinda weird for 15 years old young girl), feels so tired to be the second best, to be Summer's shadow although they share the same face and love. Then one day she finds a trunk full with things from the past at the spooky-rumoured cellar of Tanberry's house, and those things belong to one old relative, Clara Travers, who had committed suicide because she couldn't be with someone she loved, a gypsy guy. Since then Skye only cares about the old tragic love story, old clothes and letters from that trunk and starts to have a weird dreams, likely she is Clara, together with a gypsy boy who predicted as the one she loves. Skye also gradually falls in love with the boy in her dream but sure it's impossible to love someone who doesn't exist, or literally, a ghost from the past. Always be the second best and fall for a ghost, can't life be more misarable for her. But is it really that miserable?

This book was rather giving a melancholic feeling to me. Skye is so pitiful because she's tortured by her own negative thoughts, but strangely I felt a strong connection with her, for some reason I can understand her down feeling very well. At one time I was like wanting to shout to her ear "Oh please Skye, you're already so AWESOME so shut those negativities up! Believe in yourself!" kind, but then I thought I had no right to tell her so because sometimes I can be insecured like her, felt like other is better than me, I'm so odd no one could understand me and so on. But although she seems low spirited, I loved her determination to keep being herself in her unique way, keep being different and stand out with her own charms, not trying to be someone else she doesn't want to be to make people love her.
Skye maybe is my favorite one among Tanberry sisters. She's like the cool, calm, and mature version of her twin and her obsession over old and vintage things add romantic and sentimental image on her. And yes, I can say that what happen on her at this book is really magically romantic! I was deeply inhaling while reading the last part and really can't wait to see more about this couple! =D

What I also love about this series is the settings and how Cassidy explained it through words. They have a beautiful and mysterious impression, like old house where the Tanberry lives that hold some mysteries, an old Gypsy caravan where used to be Cherry's room, a cellar that has been keeping many goods from the past, even Clara's old bird cage that Summer uses to display some flowers. And don't forget, their dad's creative chocolate creations! Yummy~. My mind was busy imagining them all, wondering if I could live in a place like that with a unique family like Tanberry sisters, I would be soooooo happy! =D
We also find the other family members that have been appearing since Cherry Crush like Mom and Dad, Honey, Cherry, Summer, Coco even Shay, and the family drama also enrich the whole story. I enjoyed that this story not only focusing on Skye (although she gets the biggest part, of course) but the whole family get a situation development too.

Overall, actually this is a middle grade reading but I think it's definitely nothing wrong if we the olders read and love this book. It's simply cute, sweet, addicting and magically heartwarming, well, like marshmallow =D. It's also a good story with strong family bond and drama about the processes of acceptance and forgiveness between family members. I definitely can't wait to read the next sequels, about the other sisters and love to see Skye and her boyfriend-to-be again.
Happy reading! ;)

In My Mailbox #21

In My Mailbox is a blog meme hosted by Kristi of The Story Siren. You can show some books you got over the week which you bought, borrowed or given to you.

Hello guys how are you today?
This week I got books I've been waiting for several weeks, thankfully they safely arrived!

The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa
Hourglass by Myra McEntire
City of Lost Soul by Cassandra Clare

YAY! Don't you think these three books share the same shade of colors? =D
SO happy to add more awesome books on my pile and definitely can't wait to devour them, especially City of Lost Soul! 8D
Woops, I kinda overwhelm with the huge amount of unread books in my shelf and I have to save most of my money for something BIG next year. Have to restrain myself from book buying, hardly. So maybe I won't do IMM for next several weeks. Well, still maybe because I'm that person who easily fall for the temptation, LOL.

What's in your mailbox/stacks/bookhaul/etc ? Feel free to put your link so I can check it back. Enjoy your week with your awesome new books! ^^

Cover Reveal #8

Some prettinesses of new series or sequels I found this week :

Let The Sky Fall
by Shannon Messenger
Expected release date : March 2013

Really happy to accidentally found this on Twitter-verse! The story is very new and interesting and the cover is absolutely stunning! I think it fits the story very well with a couple hugging and seems falling from the sky. Love the effect and the color. Definitely look forward for this title =D

Winter White (Belle #2)
by Jen Calonita
Expected release date : October 2012

I haven't read Belle yet but the story sounds really good and of course, I attracted because it has a pretty cover! =9 If Belle has baby pink, the sequel, Winter White has soft violet and I love that it still similar with previous cover and yes, still pretty!

Level 2 (The Memory Chronicle)
by Lenore Appelhans
Expected release date : January 2013

I also happily found this on Twitter-verse. This is also a new series, with an original and very interesting idea moreover, it sounds like Dystopia for me! I like the cover though, it pictures the story perfectly.

Tributary
by Lisa T. Bergren
Expected release date : June 2012

This was appearing quite long time ago but never old for me!
AAAAAGH LUCAAAAAAA~! So smokin' hawt! Definitely fit my imagination of him 8D I always love the design of all River of Time series covers and this one is similar with Bourne's. So graceful and pretty! I really can't wait to read what Tributary is about, and hope one day Bourne and Tributary would be a book, physically =D

The Collector
by Victoria Scott
Expected release date : March 2013

To be honest I think the cover is too plain. But still it's very smokin' hawt and make me curious more about the story, because this will be told from main male character POV which is I usually enjoy very much. And also it has a pretty interesting premise about soul collector who falls for his prey. WOW!

Those are some new covers of sequels or new series I interest. They look amazing right?
So which one is your favorite? =D
